Burial was held at Beulah Cemetery in Trout. Mr. Stapleton, 74, of Noble, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, in the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, and a Baptist. Survivors include his widow, Dorothy Stapleton of Noble; five daughters, Margaret Reynolds of Clay, Kan., Helen Kyvelos of Eugene, Ore., Dona Chavin of Baton Rouge, Barbara Stapleton of Gonzales, and Debi Braun of Blufton, Ohio; two sons, Clifton Dale Stapleton, both of Dry Prong; three stepdaughters, Carrol Valiente of Melbourne, Fla., Dona Brooks of Plum Bay, Fla., and Brenda Cornwell of Baltimore, Md.; one stepson, Robert Culver of Melbourne, Fla.; three sisters, Jessie Russell of Oakdale, Erma Cook of Texas City, Texas, and Tina Tomlinson of Batson, Texas; three brothers, Clarence Stapleton of Montgomery, Floyd Stapleton of Texas City, Texas, and David Stapleton of Grayson; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
