All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Mary Ann Stephens 3 Jun 1938 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Stephens, 92, who died after a long illness, were held Sunday in the Spring Ridge Baptist church. Interment was in the Spring Ridge cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Holiday of Zwolle conducted the services assisted by the Rev. J. C. Price of Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Stephens was born in Mississippi in 1846. She came to Louisiana about 62 years ago and lived at Spring Ridge the entire time. She was one of the pioneer settlers of this ommunity. Surviving her are four daughters: Mrs. Newton Phillips, Mrs. Joe Phillips, Mrs. R. J. Heidleberg, and Mrs. W. J. Ross of Pleasant Hill, and 25 grandchildren. Mrs. E. P. Ritter, daughter of Mrs. W. J. Ross, is Mrs. Stephens' granddaughter, and Mrs. S. H. Porter is a niece of Mrs. Stephens. Mrs. Stephens was the sister of the late R. E. Holiday, father of Mrs. Porter.
