Stephens Alexander Hamilton Stephens, 89, died at 11:05 a.m., Monday, in Natchitoches Parish Hospital. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He is survived by five sons, Oscar Stephens of Robeline, Everett Stephens, and Carroll D. Stephens, both of Alexandria, Floyd Stephens of Oberlin, and LaVerne Stephens of Dallas, Tex.; five daughters, Mrs. J. F. Landrum, Mrs. Lu Stegemann, and Mrs. Gladys Wyatt, all of Natchitoches, Mrs. Loree S. Sparks of Alexandria, and Mrs. A. P. Vasser of Louisville, Ky.; 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the chapel of St. Denis funeral Home, with Rev. Earl Marr, and Dr. James E. Carter officiating. Burial was in Ft. Jesup Cemetery.
