All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Walter Stephens Walter Lee Stephens, 85, of Natchitoches, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, in a Shreveport hospital, as the result of a pedestrian automobile accident in Natchitoches. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, in the Oak Grove Methodist Church, with the Rev. J. C. Zerangne officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gill Arthur. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of the St. Denis Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow; five sons, Warren Stephens, and Louis Stephens, both of Natchitoches, Wallace Stephens of Homer; four daughters, Mrs. Ora Self of Many, Mrs. Katherine Anking of Natchitoches, Mrs. Ollie Legg of Drew, Miss., and Mrs. Naomi Cook of Groves, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Ina McCallister, and Mrs. Eva Hawthorne, both of Natchitoches; a brother, Earnest Stephens of Urania; 28 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
