The Sabine Index - James R. Stoker 
  
  8 Sep 1939 - Last rites for James R. Stoker, age 84 years were 
held at Ft. Jesup last Friday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. W. G. 
Bailey officiating. Funeral was in charge of the Dennis-Green 
funeral home. 
  
  Pallbearers: C. C. Stoker, Dewey Stoker, Bernice Stoker, R. J. 
Stoker, Othal Varnado and Joe Smith. 
  
  Surviving are: Mrs. Betty Stoker, wife, and the following 
children, Maurice, E. R. Dewitt and Evie, sons, and three 
daughters, Mrs. Jim Smith, Miss Vera Stoker and Mrs. Oleta Stoker 
Jackson. 
  
  Mr. Stoker was one of the pioneer families of the parish, having 
settle in the Ft. Jesup community, spending his entire life 
there.
