Cecil E. Stutts

  Oakdale - A 39 year old Pleasant Hill man, Cecil E. Stutts, was
killed in a two car collision, early Wednesday afternoon, two
miles west of here on La. Hwy. 10.

  State Trooper Dallas Bertrand said the crash occurred about 2:15
p.m., when Stutts' jeep was struck from behind by a car driven by
Jimmy C. Woodard, 26, of Pitkin.

  Bertrand said Woodard has been charged with reckless driving.

  Witnesses told Bertrand, Woodard attempted to pass the jeep, but
then attempted to drop back into his own lane when he noticed
oncoming traffic. Woodward's car caught the back end of the jeep,
sending it out of control, into a wide ditch, 250 feet from the
point of impact.

  Woodward was not injured.
