Mrs. Velma G. Settle

  Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Gertrude Settle, 82, were held
Sunday, at 3 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Marthaville,
with the Rev. Loyd Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the
Marthaville Cemetery, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis
Funeral Home. Mrs. Settle was preceded in death by a son, Samuel
Edward Settle. Survivors include her husband, Arden A. Settle Sr.
of Marthaville; two sons, Arden A. Settle Jr., and Dale Settle,
both of Marthaville; five sisters, Lucille R. Wells of Pleasant
Hill, La., Myrtle R. Freeman of Marthaville, Violet Cagle,
Elizabeth R. Wallis, and Jo Ann R. Wallis, all of Blanchard, La.;
seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
