Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 7, at 11 a.m., by Reverend Richard Humphries, and R. George Harbuck, in the First United Methodist Church, Mansfield. Burial was in the Mansfield Cemetery. Prier was born and reared in Mansfield. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. After graduation from high school, he attended La. Tech, Ruston, where he was a member of the football team. Upon graduation from Tech, he married Glen Ellen Stokes, and worked for Nabors Trailers in Mansfield. During WWII, he served as a pilot in the Pathfinder Group of the 8th Air Force, flying missions from England. After the war, he returned to Nabors Trailers, and later worked at Many Motor Company, Many. In 1957, he purchased an automobile dealership in Golden Meadow, where he and his family lived until his retirement, at which time they moved to Baton Rouge, and lived there until the time of his death. Prier is survived by his wife, Glen Ellen; his daughter, Ellen Edgar of Baton Rouge; his granddaughter, Amanda Talley, also of Baton Rouge; his sisters, Mrs. Amy S. Johnson of Flencoe, Mrs. Sophia S. Cook of Ruston; and his brother, Ollie L. Stone Sr. of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
