The funeral was at 3 p.m., Saturday, in Verda Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Spears officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include two sons, James R. Stinson, both of Jackson, Miss.; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Oglesby, and Mrs. Ruth Humphrey, both of Verda, Mrs. Melba Houghton of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Mildred Smith of Alexandria; one brother, O. E. Williams of Hickory, N. C.; five sisters, Mrs. Lela Mae Petty, and Mrs. Leitha Ruddick, both of Shreveport, Mrs. A. A. DeWitt, and Mrs. Ruth Pickler, both of Zwolle, and Mrs. Henry Cox of Montgomery; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
