  Mrs. Florence Strickland - December 27, 1973

  Mrs. Florence Strickland, 100, of Many died in Leesville on
Sunday, Dec. 23 at 10:55 p.m., following an extended illness.

  Mrs. Strickland is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lovella
Hardy of Many, Mrs. Agnes Buyea of Leesville, and Mrs. Zela
Boyett of Delks, Tex.; two sons, Richard Strickland of Many, and
S. D. Strickland of Burkville, Tex.; 20 grandchildren; 4 great
grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

  She is also survived by a brother, Poley Mahaffey of Florien,
and a sister, Mrs. Lisa Chance of Hornbeck.

  Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 2 p.m. at
the Shady Grove Church of God. The Rev. Johnny Crocker
officiated. Burial was in the Shady Grove Cemetery under the
direction of the Warren meadows Funeral Home.
