Effie Marie Strickland

  Funeral services for Effie Marie Strickland, 80, were held May
23, 1996, at 2 p.m., at Cenchrea Nazarene Church. Interment was
at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

  Mrs. Strickland passed away in Many on May 21, 1996. She was
born on June 14, 1915, in Nederland, Tex., to James Leach and
Exie Addison Leach.

  She is survived by her husband, John Loy Strickland of Florien;
two daughters, Rose Remedies and Donnie Neel of Florien,
Charlotte Pleasant and husband Jimmy of Many; two sons, Billy
Strickland and his wife Ruth of Panama City, Fla., Charles
Strickland and his wife Nelda of Many; one sister, Edna Earl Frye
of Houston; four brothers, Buster Leach, Darron Leach, David
Leach, and Terrell Leach, all of Shreveport; thirteen
grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces,
nephews, and close friends.

  Pallbearers were her grandsons.
