Mr. John Loy Strickland

  Mr. John Loy Strickland, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 21, at his
residence.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at
Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at
Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The Rev. James Lemmons, and the Rev.
Roundtree officiated.

  Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Pleasant of Many, and
Rose Neel of Florien; two sons, Billy L. Strickland of Panama
City, Fla., and Charles Strickland of Many; six sisters, Laverne
Blackmon, Coleen Anglin, Robbie Jean Pattison, and Betty
Whittington, all of Shreveport, Iva Lee Stewart of Bethany,
Okla., and Mary Lou McClung of Natchitoches; two brothers, Hoy
Strickland of Shreveport, and Freeman Strickland of Dallas,
Texas; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of
nieces and nephews.
