Mrs. Strickland died Wednesday, Sept. 22, following a short illness. She is survived by her husband, Mr. J. A. Strickland of Florien; four sons, Loy Strickland of Florien, Hoy, and Fred Strickland, both of Shreveport, and Freeman Strickland of Dallas; eight daughters, Mrs. Laverne Blackman of Shreveport, Mrs. Iva lee Stewart of Kincheloi, Mich., Mrs. Colene Anglin, Mrs. Robbie Jean Parker, Mrs. Shirley Simon, Mrs. Doye Bradford, and Miss Betty Jo Strickland, all of Shreveport, and Mrs. Mary Lou McClung of Berlin, New Jersey; four brothers, Monroe Skinner, and Roy S. Skinner, both of Florien, Jeff Skinner of Los Angeles, Calif., and the Rev. Louis Skinner of Chenneyville, La.; eight sisters, Mrs. Ora Weldon, Mrs. Cora Smith, Mrs. Exie Anderson, Mrs. Elta Wyatt, Mrs. Iberia Mothershed, Mrs. Melva Curry, Mrs. Milton Weldon, all of Florien, and Mrs. Pearlie Dupree of Many; 22 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Burial was held at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. W. McClung officiating. Pallbearers were Billy Loy Strickland, Charles Strickland, Lorien Strickland, Ray Weldon, Elton Smith, and Robert Strickland.
