  Mrs. Exie Strickland, 32, of Many, died at the Pleasant Hill
Hospital at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, following a sudden
illness.

  A cashier at the Sabine State Bank, Mrs. Strickland was on
vacation at the time of her death. She was recently initiated
into the Order of Eastern Star.

  Survivors include her husband, George Strickland of Many; a
daughter, Ann Strickland of Many; her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Heard of Many; three brothers, Buford Heard of Zwolle,
Joel Heard of Many, and Huey Heard of Berwick; and two sisters,
Mrs. Becky McConathy of Mansfield, and Mrs. Melva Howard of
Belmont.

  Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 28, at 2 p.m., in
the Bethsadia Baptist Church. The Rev. Willis Greer, and the Rev.
Dan Jones officiated.

  Burial was in the Bethsadia Cemetery, under the direction of
Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
