James R. Stewart

  James R. STewart, 96, of Shreveport died March 22 in Shreveport,
after an extended illness.

  Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Florence Worsham Stewart
of Shreveport; a daughter, Mrs. Euna Belle Mobley of Robeline; four
brothers, Cleveland, Clarence, and Claude, and Raleigh Stewart, all
of Sabine Parish; a sister, Mrs. Mora Thaxton of Sabine Parish; seven
grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

  Stewart was a retired farmer, and for many years his farm was
designed a model farm by the state because of outstanding crops. He
was active in the Baptist Church for 75 years, and was a member of
Lakeshore Baptist Church of Shreveport.

  Funeral services were held in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church March 24,
with Dr. Ira Peek and the Rev. O. S. Roberts officiating. Burial was
in Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral
Home of Many.
