Stroud Sr. Asa Jefferson Stroud Sr., 85, of Many, died at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 18, at the Pendleton Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. W. W. Hall officiating, and the Rev. A. V. Walters assisting. Interment was in the Church Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Lambert Peterson, Melvin Merritt, William A. Stroud, R. H. Anderson, Carroll Stroud, Reginald Stroud, Van Tate, and Dale Savell. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Alba Rebecca Stroud of Many; five sons, Thomas Jackson Stroud of Florien, Howard H. Stroud of Shreveport, A. J. Stroud, Jr. of Many, Casewell H. Stroud of Salt Lake City, Utah, and the Rev. D. E. Stroud of Hodge; one daughter, Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Flanagan of Many; one brother, Henry R. Stroud of Shreveport; 22 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
