The Sabine Index - George Stewart 
  
  22 Jan 1960 - Funeral services for George Stewart were held 
Saturday at the First Methodist church in Zwolle with the pastor, 
Rev. Wm. T. Hall, Jr., officiating, assisted by Rev. Walker of 
Converse. Interment was in the Zwolle cemetery under the 
direction of the Drewitt Funeral home of Manfield. 
  
  The 61-year-old Zwolle night watchman was killed instantly 
Thursday at about 4:30 a.m. when a freight train smashed into his 
apparently stalled pick up truck at a crossing in Zwolle. 
  
  Survivors are his widow; a stepson, Tommy Phillips of 
Shelbyville, Texas; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Carrie Belle Stevens of 
Detroit, Mich; four brothers, Allen Stewart of Oak Grove, Roy 
Stewart of Zwolle, Tom Stewart of Converse and Ollie Stewart of 
Pleasant Hill.
