Sammie Stewart

  Mr. Sammie Stewart, 55, of Florien, died on Friday, July 26, at
6:30 p.m., in the V. A. Hospital in Shreveport, after an extended
illness. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 28, at 2
p.m., at the Cenchrea Church of the Nazarene in Sarasota, Fla.,
with the Rev. Virgil P. Taylor officiating. Burial was in the
Sarasota Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Warren
Meadows Funeral Home.

  The pallbearers were Mr. Stewart's nephews.

  Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Sheryl Stewart Moore of
Sarasota, Fla.; 2 sons, Sammie Stewart, Jr., and David Stewart,
both of Sarasota, Fla.; his father, Cleveland Stewart of Florien;
2 sisters, Mrs. Iris Weldon of Many, and Mrs. Eloise Thaxton of
Natchitoches; 3 brothers, Lee R. Stewart of Florien, Grover
Stewart of Winnfield, and G. C. Stewart Jr. of Shreveport, and 4
grandchildren.
