Stroud, 59, of Many, died Friday, Jan. 28, at his residence, following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30, in the Beulah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Druie McCormick officiating, assisted by the Rev. A. J. Dupree, and the Rev. Kenneth Leach. Burial was in the Beulah Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. J. P. Stroud of Many; his widow, Mrs. Golda Mae Stroud of Many; one son, Jimmy Stroud of Many; two brothers, Howard Stroud of Many, and Percy Stroud of Oildale, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Vernon Masters of Zwolle, Mrs. Laverne Gandy of Sherman, Tex., Mrs. Irma Cooper of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Johnny Hossler of Many, and Mrs. Georgia cook of Nederland, Tex.
