Steward of Conroe, Tex., was killed in an automobile accident on Saturday night, Dec. 23, in Montgomery County, Tex. Survivors of the teen, who was loved by all, include her parents; brother, Robert Wayne Steward of Conroe, Tex.; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Don Gibbs of Houston, Tex.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Miss Steward was a member of the junior class at Conroe High School. She was participating in the co-op program at school, by attending classes and working. She was employed in the bakery at Brookshire Brothers, in the afternoons and evenings. At CHS, she was a member of the Future Farmers of America. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 2 p.m., in the Warren Meadows Funeral Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. Willis Greer. Burial was in Fenders Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were her cousins, Don Dennison, James Gibbs, Kenneth Gibbs, Tommy Gibbs, Guy Wayne Gibbs, and David Preuss.
