Mr. Walter C. Steward

  Mr. Walter C. Steward, 76, a resident of Conroe, Texas for 23
years, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at Pine Shadows Retreat
Nursing Center in Porter, Texas, after a lengthy illness.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 27, at
Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Many, with interment following
at Fender Cemetery in Many. The Rev. Kenneth Leach, pastor of
Beulah Baptist Church in Many, officiated.

  Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Martha Steward of
Conroe, Texas; one sister, Eula Mae Wilson of Cleburne, Texas;
one nephew, Don Wilson of Cleburne, Texas; one niece, Linda Keen
of Orlando, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

  Mr. Steward was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ellis
Mae Steward; three sons, Dennis, Terry, and Bobby Steward; and
one daughter, Bonita Steward.
