All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Robert Eldred Stewart Mr. Robert Eldred Stewart of Robeline, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Tuesday, Jan 1, 1985, at the Sabine Medical Center in Many. He was 71 years old. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Stewart of Robeline; two sons, Raymond Stewart of Athens, Georgia, and Norman Stewart of Ft. Huschuca, Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Nippert of Orange, Calif., and Mrs. Lorraine Oxley of the Republic of Panama; 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; three brothers, Redic Stewart, and Younger Stewart of Robeline, and James M. Stewart of Poteau, Oklahoma; six sisters, Mrs. Etna Howard of Florien, Mrs. Melvina Matthews, and Mrs. Lizzie Belle Carnline of Robeline, Mrs. Olivia Carnline, Mrs. Novis Lambert, and Mrs. Doris Faust of Many; one uncle, Clarence Stewart of Florien; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones. Mr. Stewart retired in Dec. 1977, from Tenneco, Inc., after 27 years of service. He was a member of Friendship Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the Church Board for 36 years. For many years, he was song leader, and also sang solos, and was in quartets with his wife and sisters. Funeral services for Mr. Stewart were held Saturday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m., at Friendship Church of the Nazarene, with interment in the Friendship Cemetery. Officiating were Rev. Winston Lowe, Rev. Gary Dupuy, and Rev. Mike Howard. Services were under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were nephews, Robert, and Philip Lambert, David, and George Carnline, Gerald Knippers, Harold Matthews, Odis Faust, and Brent Little.
