Stewart, 75, was born March 29, 1928 in Sabine Parish, to Andy and Anna (Lockwood) Stewart. He passed away on April 4, 2003, in Henrietta, Okla. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. He served as a minister for the Church of the Nazarene for 47 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris. Survivors include his daughter, Kaylene Churchill and husband Lowell, Henrietta, Okla.; sons, Wayland Stewart and wife Terry of Harrison, Tenn., and Monty Stewart and wife Janelle, Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Younger Stewart; and sisters, Lizzie Bell Carnline, and Doris Faust, all of Sabine Parish. Memorials may be made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, P.O. Box 670, Bethany, Okla. 73008. Services were Monday, April 7, 2003, at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, Oklahoma, followed by interment at Bethany Cemetery.
