Cecil Lawrence officiating. Interment was in church cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Sam Williams, Pete Davis, Joel Bush, Andrew Savell, Jimmy D. Ross and Elmer McKinnis. Survivors are wife, Mrs. Creasie Sterling of Hornbeck, one step-son, Douglas L. Willers of U. S. Navy; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Snell of Many, Mrs. Bessie Bodon and Mrs. Ruby Kissell both of Kilgore, Texas; one brother, Lum Sterling of Hornbeck; seven half brothers, Tom, Bill Sterling and Seymore Stedevin all of Vidor, Claude Sterling of Beaumont, Lee and Henry Sterling of Hornbeck, Huey P. Sterling of Lubbock, Texas; step-mother, Mrs. Mattie Sterling of Hornbeck; one sister, Mrs. Alice Van Veckhoven of Hornbeck, half-sisters, Mrs. Winnie Williams of Beaumont, Mrs. Mattie Mae Maines of Mo., Mrs. Addie Bell Sterling and direction of Warren Funeral Home. Survivors are wife, Mrs. Mary Shufflin of Many, sons, Pat of Greenwood, Miss., Otha of Lake Charles, Howard of South Rockana, Ill., Charles of Shreveport; daughters, Mrs. W. D. Kemp of Oklahoma City, Mrs. J. E. Barnett of Kilgore, Mrs. Lucy Kirkland of Shreveport, Mrs. A. R. Lundquist of Jasper, Texas, Mrs. Frank Marganti of Oklahoma City; brothers, Reece Shufflin of San Diego, Calif., Charles Shufflin of Burkburnet, Texas; Dick Shufflin of Amarillo, Texas; Tom Shufflin of Port Allen, Henry Shufflin of Shreveport; sister, Mrs. J. A. May of Homer; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
