Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, in the Velma Baptist Church of Duncan, with the Rev. Jack Robbins, pastor of the church, officiating, and the Rev. Bill White of Many assisting. Military rites were held at the graveside, which was in the Velma Cemetery. Surviving M-Sgt. Stringer are his wife of Duncan; two daughters, Linda Gayle, and Catherine Marie, both of Duncan; three sons, Lance Cpl. Dale Stringer of El Toro, Calif., Charles Stringer, and Richard Wayne Stringer of Duncan. Also surviving are two brothers, Quinton Stringer of Shreveport, and James Stringer of Many; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey Stringer of Many.
