Strong Sr., 69, of Shreveport, died at 7:35 a.m., Friday, July 4, at Doctors Hospital, after a long illness. Services were at 2 p.m., on Sunday, July 6, at Southside Baptist Church, with the Dr. Billy O. Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial was at Centuries Memorial Park, under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. He was a native of Shelbyville, Tex., and had lived in Shreveport 52 years. He was a retired Civil Service employee, and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lelia Powell Strong of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Rascoe of Shreveport, and Mrs. Elizabeth Mann of Largo, Fla.; two sons, Horace Lynn Strong of New Orleans, and Robert T. Strong Jr. of Killeen, Tex.; one brother, John Henry Strong of Zwolle; 16 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe Buck Strong, Leo Strong, George Grant, Howard Strong, Jimmy Strong, and Gordon Stanley.
