Brother Horrace Hampton, and Brother Gussie Lambert, ministers of the Church of Christ, officiated. Graveside services were at 1 p.m., at Bayou Scie Cemetery in Zwolle, La. Mrs. Strong, a housewife, died at 4:28 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 1984, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. She won her battle with cancer after a long struggle. She was born in Many, La., had been a resident of Shreveport for 18 years, and was a member of Bennett Street Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Mr. John Strong of Shreveport; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Patton, Sr. of Many, La.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger Wayne Strong of Shreveport, John Robert and Regina Strong of Longview, Texas; two daughters and son-in-law, Roger Wayne Strong, Cathy Diane and Raymond Watson of Shreveport; two sisters, Mary Anderson of Many, La., Nettie Palmer of Bossier City; one brother, Robert E. Patton Jr. of Billings, Montana. Family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Bennett Street Church of Christ library.
