All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** William Alonzo Stringer Funeral services for William Alonzo Stringer, age 88 years, 1 month, 17 days, were held at Pisgah Baptist Church, January 18, at 2 p.m. Interment was in Pisgah Cemetery, Stringer Funeral Home of Jasper, Texas, was in charge. He was born and raised in Sabine Parish, moving to East Texas in 1933. He lived several years in the Jasper vicinity, moving to Newton to make his home with his son, after he lost his wife, July 28, 1916. He has been a member of a Baptist Church since a young man, having served faithfully until his health failed him a few years ago. He has served as a deacon for approximately fifty years. His survivors are three sons, Leo Stringer, and Lois of Jasper, Texas, and Hoyt of Newton, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Bridges of Hornbeck, La., Mrs. Edna Robinson of Livingston, Tex., Mrs. Eula Mae Lane of Jasper, Tex.; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were his grandsons. He was a wonderful father, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but our loss is Heaven's gain.
