Slay, 54, of Shreveport, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. Ken Roy, associate pastor of St. Mary Of The Pines Catholic Church. Burial followed in the Forest Park West. She died Monday, Feb. 21, 1983, following a short illness. Mrs. Slay, a native of Garmisch, Germany, was a machine operator for Western Electric. Survivors include her husband, Irvin Slay, Jr., of Shreveport; one son, Garlon L. Slay of Zwolle; one daughter, Shirley Slay of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Maria Frank, and Julie Grobboth of Germany; one brother, Hans Rathgerber, also of Germany; and four grandchildren.
