Salley, 82, of Converse, were held at 3 p.m., Monday, January 9, at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, La., with the Rev. J. P. King officiating. Burial was at Union springs Cemetery near Converse. Mr. Salley died Sunday, January 8, 1989, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, following a lengthy illness. A native of Belmont, La., he had lived most of his life in the Union Springs Community. He was a retired machinist from Riley-Beaird, Inc., and a member of the Henrietta Congregational Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Aylean Salley of Converse; three sons, C. W. Salley and his wife Mary Louise of Converse, Neutria Salley, and Jimmie Salley, both of Shreveport; three sisters, Inez Walker of Baytown, Tex., Elois Mancil of Zwolle, Eleanor Mitchell of Many; one brother, W. E. Salley of Shreveport; two grandsons, Ricky Salley, and Ronnie Salley and wife Tine, all of Converse; one great grandson. Pallbearers, Phil Chaney, Jeffrey Harper, Thomas Ford, Mike Mancil, Bobby Lynn Mitchell, Richard Salley. Honorary pallbearers were Drs. Neal Prather, Church Knight, Bryson Jones.
