George Bannister officiating. Burial followed in the Forest Park Cemetery. Mrs. Slay passed away Saturday, February 17, at the DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield, following a brief illness. She was born in Pleasant Hill, and had resided in Mansfield since 1983. Prior to that, she was a resident of Shreveport from 1961 until she moved to Mansfield. She was a homemaker, and a Baptist. She is survived by three sons, I. L. Slay of Shreveport, Jewel Slay of Mansfield, Alvin Slay of Marthaville; two daughters, Ruby Lee Jacobs of Shreveport, Gertie Melton of Mansfield; 19 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
