Gene Salley

  Mr. Gene Salley of Belmont, age 91, died Sunday, July 21, after
an extended illness.

  Relatives include his wife, Mrs. Essie Salley of Belmont; three
sons, Jimmy, and Everett Salley of Shreveport, and Ray Salley of
Belmont; three daughters, Mrs. Inez Walker of Baytown, Tex., Mrs.
Eloise Mancil of Belmont, and Mrs. Eleanor Mitchell of Robeline;
four brothers, M. Salley, and J. O. Salley, both of Shreveport,
Mill Salley of Mansfield, and Ira Salley of Many; one sister,
Mrs. Etta Hamsey of Shreveport; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great
grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 23, in the Belmont
Baptist Church, with the Rev. Walker Ledford officiating.

  Interment was in the Belmont Cemetery, under the direction of
Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
