Slay, 76, of Many, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, in Many, after an extended illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Slay were held Thursday, August 25, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Earl Marr officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors are her husband, R. C. Slay of Many; one stepson, W. C. Slay of Many; three step daughters, Mrs. Vera Lee of Many, Mrs. Velma Craft of Anacoco, and Mrs. Marie Dowden of Hornbeck; one brother, Clayborn Corley of Glenmora; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Brown of Florien, Mrs. J. F. Williams of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Mrs. David Brown of DeRidder; 18 step grandchildren; and 14 step great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her nephews.
