Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Slay

  Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Slay, age 87, who
died at the Fraser Sanitarium, March 3, were conducted at 2 p.m.,
March 4, at the Many Methodist Church, with Rev. Kelly Fitzgerald
officiating, assisted by Rev. Versie Miller, Rev. J. W. Matthews,
and Bishop Mack Hayes Jr. Interment was in Old Pleasant Hill
Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Pallbearers
were her grandsons.

  Survivors are sons, Dan Slay of Many, Alvin Slay of Leesville;
daughters, Mrs. Mabel Vidler of Sanger, Calif., Mrs. Bertha
Salter of Hornbeck, Mrs. Carrie Westbrook, Mrs. Maude Thedford,
Mrs. Lee Wagley, and Mrs. Louise Wagley, all of Many, Mrs. Linda
Pynes of El Dorado, Ark., and Mrs. Allie Sermon of Logansport; 30
grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and four great-great
grandchildren.
