Self, 73, of Many, died Sept. 14, after a short illness. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. W. D. Self of Many; sons, Dewey of Florien, Bernice of Shreveport, Otis of Monroe, and Amos of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Herrington of Florien; step-sons, Norman Dockens of Many, Jack and Charley Dockens of Robeline, and Curtis Dockins of Shreveport; step-daughters, Mrs. Margurette Powell, and Mrs. Maxine Cooper, both of New Mexico, Mrs. Retha Campbell of Monroe, Mrs. Katherine Clark of Many, and Mrs. Elaine McCormic of Houston, Tex.; brothers Frank Self of Many, and Edward Self of Florien; sisters, Mrs. Lena Lee of Many, and Mrs. Alice Williams of Warren, Tex.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Alford Heights Baptist Church, Sept. 16, with the Rev. A. A. Hoffpauir, the Rev. Earl Marr, and the Rev. Winston Lowe officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
