The Sabine Index - James Rolly Self

  9 Nov 1943 - James Rolly Self, age 69, died early Friday
morning following an illness of several weeks duration. He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Self of Many; four children, two
sons, Arthur Self of Many and Floyd Self of U. S. navy; two
daughters, Mrs. Annie Mae Pike of El Dorado, Ill., and Mrs.
Gertrude Reeves of Shreveport; four grandchildren, one brother,
Matt Self, Vowell's Mill; four sisters, Miss Mitt Self and Mrs.
Liz Marrie of Vowell's Mill, Mrs. Lizena Palmer and Mrs. James
Stringer of Hornbeck.

  Funeral services were held at Addison cemetery, near Vowell's
Mill at 3 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Newcomb of Many officiating,
Dennis-Green funeral home directing.

  Mr. Self was a prominent citizen of Many, having operated
a grocery and service station here for several years.
