The Rev. Joe Dan Franklin Sr., Dr. Max Brown, and Joe Dan Franklin Jr. officiated. Burial was held in Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Silvey died at 3:45 a.m., on Saturday, May 9, at St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston. Mrs. Silvey was born in Van Buren, Arkansas, on November 2, 1906. She was a housewife, and a member of First Baptist Church. She was a wonderful, strong, warm, loving mother, who loved and lead her family throughout her life. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert R. Franklin, M.D., and Mary M. of Houston; and another son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Joe Dan, and Mary L. Franklin of Many, La.; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert R. Franklin Jr., Scott Franklin, Rev. Joe Dan Franklin Jr., John Franklin, Doyle Shipman, Patrick Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Evans, Ronald Davenport, Everett Brewington Houston.
