Hoy R. Self

  Services were held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel,
8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, for Hoy R. Self, age 80, of
Shreveport, on Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m. Officiating was Dr.
Lynn Jones of Highland Baptist Church. Interment followed at
Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery.

  He entered into rest on Wednesday, May 27, at Schumpert
Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Self was a native of
Barham, and lived in Shreveport most of his life. He was a member
of the Carpenters Union Local #764.

  He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ruby Self; one daughter,
Joann Carter and husband Ron of Arlington, Texas; one son, Stevie
Self of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Virgie Westbrook of
Hornbeck; four grandchildren; and several great-great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Danny Self, Henry Dover, Vic Westbrook, Rank
Dahlberg, Don Cotton, and Arthur McGraw.

  Visitation was at the funeral home on Friday, from 5 p.m. to 8
p.m.
