Lud Self

  Lud Self, 77, of Hornbeck, died in Many, June 15, after an
extended illness.

  Funeral services were held in the Good Hope Baptist Church, June
17, with the Rev. Steve Deason officiating. Burial was in the
Good Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral
Home of Many.

  Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Lud Self; six sons,
Mann, Max, Lud Jr., and Marty, all of Hornbeck, John D. Self of
Houma, Mose Self of Belton, Tex.; six daughters, Zoe Self of
Hornbeck, Yowoma Self of Belton, Tex., Ida Liles of Leesville,
Hortense Caldwell, and Ludline Hodges, both of Houston, Tex., and
Imoggene carver of Anacoco; four brothers, Dan Self of Los
Angeles, Calif., Tom Self of Anacoco, Frank Self of Houston,
Tex., and Ben Self of Shreveport; two sisters, Ellen McElveen,
and Ella Hicks, both of Anacoco; and 28 grandchildren.
