Solice Funeral services for Everett Joseph Solice, 51, of Natchitoches, were held Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m., in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, with the Rev. Wilbur Cloutier officiating at a Requiem Mass. Interment was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Spanish Lake. Blanchard's Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. Solice, a fine foreman for the city of Natchitoches for some 21 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 4, en route to Natchitoches Parish Hospital, following a heart attack. He was stricken while on duty. A Rosary was recited in the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Orlando Harkins Solice; a son, John Everett Solice of Natchitoches; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Litton, also of Natchitoches; three brothers, Lee Solice of Many, Audrey Solice of Pensacola, Fla., and Woodrow Solice of Shreveport; two half brothers, Wesley Scothorn of Shreveport, and Isaac Scothorn of Robeline; five sisters, Mrs. Lucille Flores, and Mrs. Azalie Grant, both of Shreveport, Mrs. Christine Flores of Natchitoches, and Mrs. Agnes Moore, and Mrs. Besie Bustamento, both of Robeline. Pallbearers were David, and Michael Flores, Delbert, and Carson Moore, Joe Bonanno, and George (Red) Walmsley.
