J. C. Slaughter

  Mr. J. C. Slaughter, 77, of Florien, died at 11:55 a.m., on
Thursday, May 22, 1986.

  Funeral services were held Saturday, May 24, at 2 p.m., at the
Pine Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Glenn Flennagin, and the
Rev. Wesley Jackson officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Carmel
Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Slaughter is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winnie Browning
Slaughter of Florien; two sons, Larry Slaughter of Shreveport,
and Clois Slaughter of Florien; four daughters, Gloria Camp of
Weatherford, Tex., Judith Jones of Florien, Linds Stypes of
Pryor, Okla., and Rachel Cuevas of San Romon, Calif.; one sister,
Bertha Miller of Longview, Tex.; 24 grandchildren; and five great
grandchildren.
