Tevess Leon Slaughter

  Services for Mr. Tevess Leon Slaughter, 75, were held at 2 p.m.,
Tuesday, August 13, at Plainview Baptist Church. Officiating were
Rev. Glen Flenniken, Rev. Don Nunley, Rev. J. D. Brown, and Rev.
Ron Berry.

  Tevess Leon Slaughter died Sunday, August 11, in Florien.

  He is survived by his wife, Edith Eveline Withers Slaughter of
Plainview; one son, Marcel Slaughter of Plainview; one sister,
Lovie Rogers of Many; two brothers, Taft Slaughter of Many, and
Woodrow Slaughter of Vowells Mill.

  Pallbearers included Rosezell Flether, Victor Ellzey, Robert Ed
Williams, John Hill, Bobby Ray Rogers, and Lewis Slaughter.
