Tevess Leon Slaughter

  Funeral services for Mr. Tevess Leon Slaughter, 75, were held at
2 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, in Plainview Baptist Church.
Officiating over the services were the Reverends Glen Flenniken,
Don Nunley, J. D. Brown, and Ron Berry. Interment followed in
Prewitt Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home.

  Mr. Slaughter died Sunday, August 11, in Florien.

  He is survived by his wife, Edith Eviline Withers Slaughter of
Plainview; one son, Marcelle Slaughter of Plainview; one sister,
Lovie Rogers of Many; and two brothers, Taft Slaughter of Many,
and Woodrow Slaughter of Vowells Mill.

  Pallbearers included Rosezell Fletcher, Victor Ellzey, Robert Ed
Williams, John Hill, Bobby Ray Rogers, and Lewis Slaughter.
