Officiating will be the Rev. Bill Norton, pastor of the First Christian Church of Pineville, and Rev. Ryan Horton Jr., pastor of the First Methodist Church of Natchitoches. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, in Park Dale Cemetery in Park Dale, Arkansas. Mrs. Sledge died Thursday, May 10, at DeSoto General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Natchitoches, where she spent most of her life, and was manager of the P & C Drug Store. Mrs. Sledge had lived in Mansfield for the past five years. She was a professional music entertainer for twelve years, and, according to those who knew her, she was a marvelous beautiful and sweet person, who was loved by all. Survivors include her husband, Judge Randy Sledge of Mansfield; two step children, James Sledge of Mansfield, and Leigh Sledge of Shreveport; three sisters, Joan McCleary Katz of Slidell, Patricia McCleary Beverly of Richmond, Virginia, and Mary McCleary Delperdang of Louisville, Kentucky, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dewayne LaCaz, David Book, James Sledge, Pat Sledge, William Watson, Mervin Katz. Judge Sledge and family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
