Valery Orr Dupree Sledge

  Funeral services for Mrs. Valery Orr Dupree Sledge, 94, of
Ponchatoula, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, in the
Chapel of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.

  Burial was in the Clear Springs Cemetery in Martin.

  Mrs. Sledge passed away Dec. 15, 1994, in the North Oaks Medical
Center in Hammond, after a lengthy illness.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, C. M. Sledge; one
daughter, Dorothy Townsend; one son, Truitt Sledge; one grandson,
Steve Sledge; one granddaughter, Debbie Sledge Drude; and her
parents.

  Survivors include two sons, Jim Sledge of Hammond, and C. B.
Sledge of Jackson, Miss.; one daughter, Yvonne Barker of
Soldotan, Alaska; two sisters, Agatha McGee of Coushatta, and
Virginia Pouncy of Many; three brothers, Brittain Dupree, and Ivy
Dupree, both of Coushatta, and Reaull Dupree of Monroe; thirteen
grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren.
