Shelton Funeral services for Mrs. Allwyn L. Shelton, 75, of Mansfield, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. The Rev. Steve Sallis, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. Allan Barnes, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church of Mansfield, and Brother Pat Cobb, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Mansfield. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in Mansfield. Mrs. Shelton died Sunday, May 28, at her residence, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Sabine Parish, and was a Mansfield resident. She was a retired sales clerk for Ida's Dress Shop for almost 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Shelton. Survivors include two sons, Charles J. Shelton and wife Patricia of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Terry W. Shelton and wife Ann of Mansfield; sisters, Pauline L. Whitlock of Mansfield, and Billie Marie Tate of Houston; a brother, Huey Lynch of Converse; and grandchildren, James Clinton Shelton, Charles Jerry Shelton Jr., Stacey Alaine Shelton, and Jayme Lee Shelton. Pallbearers were Eddie Binning, Glen Tate, Huey Lunch, Randy Sallis, Richard Salter, Marvin Melton, Delynn Wells, and Lynn Clements.
