Scott Salter, age 74, of Negreet, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at 3:00 a.m. Mr. Salter was born and raised in Sabine Parish and lived the past 50 years on his home place. He was a highly respected citizen of the parish and his passing will be regretted by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Monday with interment in the Zion Hill cemetery. Rev. Hartsfield, Rev. J. M. Pate and Rev. H. T. Young conducing the last rites, with the Masons taking charge at the cemetery. The deceased is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Emma Childress, Mrs. Effie Wright, Mrs. E. D. Gandy of Many and Negreet, Mrs. Julian Cobbs of Monroe, Mrs. George Echart of San Antonio, Texas and one son J. S. Salter of Houston, Texas.
