The Sabine Index - George J. Salter

  20 Feb 1959 - Funeral services for George J. Salter, age 86 who
died at his home Monday, Feb 16 were conducted at Beulah Baptist
church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 with Rev. V. R. Miller and
Rev. Coda Salter officiating. Interment was in Beulah cemetery
under the direction of Warren Funeral home. Masonic rites at
graveside.

  Surviving are sons, W. A. Salter of Many, George J. Jr., of
Negreet, J. D. of Bossier City; daughters, Mrs. C. M. Gray of
Zwolle, Mrs. A. K. Palmer of Shreveport, Mrs. C. G. Miller of
Midland, Tex., and Mrs. H. C. Stroud of Negreet; brother W. E. of
Many, sister, Mrs. J. W. Gandy of Many, Mrs. Freeman Walker of
Pleasant Hill; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Tommy Cryer, Roy Stroud, Truman Anthony, E. W.
McDaniel, Hoyt Neel, and James Wedgeworth.
