Salter 27 Feb 1959 - Last rites for A. R. (Ross) Salter, age 68, who passed away at his home near Florien, Feb. 19, were conducted at Antioch Baptist church at 10 a.m. Feb. 21, with Rev. Glen Marr officiating, assisted by Rev. Frank Chance, Rev. J. P. King and Rev. John Reynaud. Interment was in church cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral home. Survivors are wife, Mrs. Ada Salter, sons, Jack of Florien, Ralph (Pete) of Sulphur, Rev. Coda of Many; daughters Mrs. Bonnie Corley of Shreveport, Mrs. Ruby Lee Turpin of Lake Charles; sister, Mrs. Maude Leach of Florien; brother, Ponder S. of Many; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Active pallbearers were S. D. Peterson, Sigman Corley, J. D. Salter, Howard Salter, C. R. Anthony, M. G. Anthony, Howard Anthony, and Hastell Lowe. Honorary pallbearers were Adam Key, Horace Tompkins, T. M. Phillips, Marshall Calhoun, Leland Cathorp, Johnny McCampbell, J. M. McLemore, Dr. S. F. Fraser and Dr. James Campbell.
