Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Jo Salter of Florien; three sons, John W. Lewis of Shreveport, Jimmy Salter, and Dana Joe Salter, both of Florien; one daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Blackmon of Houston, Tex.; and four grandchildren. Mr. Salter was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Bossier City, La. Funeral services were held at the Antioch Baptist Church on Sat., July 31, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Don Nunley, and the Rev. B. E. Ray officiating. Burial was in the Florien Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dana Salter, Will Watts, Joe Anderson, John Lewis, Hastel Lowe, Pat McCormic, Larry Miller, Hoyt Curtis, and Billy Ochilteen. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. J. Lane Sauls, Monroe Randolph, Dora Vaco, J. D. Salter, Roscue Kunce, Jay Baker, Travis Miller, and Allen Lewing Jr.
